Solvent deuterium kinetic isotope effects and proton inventory. Solvent isotope effects for Mt CS. NADH is varied in the reaction mixture containing either 0 (●) or 91 (■) atom % D2O. Values of 1.7 ± 0.3 and 1.3 ± 0.1 were obtained for D2OV and D2OV/K, respectively. Inset: Proton inventory at saturating concentration of NADH, indicating that a single proton transfer from solvent contribute to the rate of flavin reduction.
