Table 1 Effectors of yeast mitochondrial Mg2+ release. Yeast mitochondria were suspended in 0.6 M mannitol, 10 mM HEPES (TEA+), pH 7.20, and 0.1 mM decavanadate (Na+). Mitochondrial Mg2+ was measured at 20 minutes. The percentage of Mg2+ released was compared to that released in the presence 2 mM ATP (Na+).
