The effect of organic solvent was determined by incubating the purified P. americana protease with different organic solvent for 1 h and the enzyme activity was measured under standard assay conditions. The activity of the enzyme without organic solvent was taken as 100%. The error bars show the standard deviation of at least tree replicates. (B) Stability of the purified protease from P. americana in the presence of various commercial detergents. The stability with commercial detergents was determined by incubating the purified enzyme with each detergent at different concentrations such as 1, 10 and 100 mg/mL for 1 h at 40°C. Enzyme activity of control sample without any detergent was considered as 100%. The error bars shows the standard deviation of at least tree replicates.
