generation through a NADPH oxidase (NOX) system in isolated plasma membranes from rat adipocytes. Freshly prepared cell membranes were incubated in activation buffer supplemented with the following: none (panel a); 3 mM MnCl2 (panel b), or 10−5 M GTPγS (panel c). In each instance, 10−8 M insulin or 10−6 M of each of the selected NSAID were included in the incubation mixture. Assay of H2O2 was conducted as described in Experimental Procedures.
