Phosphorylation of Cx43 at serine 368 by PKCδ. (A). Western blots (n = 5) performed with anti-phospho-PKCδ (Thr505) and anti-phospho-Cx43 (Ser368) antibodies show concomitant phosphorylation of PKCδ and Cx43 following treatment with 5 ng/ml FGF2 and 200 nM PMA (positive control). (B). Western blots (n = 3) probed with anti-phospho-Cx43 (Ser368) antibodies reveal that the PKCδ inhibitor, rottlerin (3 μM and 5 μM), can block the FGF2-induced phosphorylation of Cx43 at serine 368. Blots probed with anti-GAPDH antibodies are to verify equal loading. Representative blots are shown.
